| An Exclusive Interview With Manthra Manthra is making her comeback in tamil cinema. She started her acting career so early at the age of 3. The Hindi film "Girafthar" was her first film. Next, she appeared in "Aaj kaa Gundaraaj" as Chiranjeevi's sister. ..
There was no news about you for so long Yeah. I was supposed to be in love with a producer. I was supposed to be married to him. That's what all Tamil magazines wrote about me. They saw me as a glamour babe. It wasn't so in Telugu. I shifted my focus to Telugu and Kannada. I thought it was the right time to come back to Tamil. So, I'm back. You had been acting for a very long time, but you still haven't become a leading actress? I don't believe in the number game. An actress is never permanent. It doesn't matter if I had acted with leading stars. What matters is- did I do good roles and do my fans remember me? You had accused that Tamil cinema didn't use you properly. You are quoting me wrong. I said, "Telugu cinema had used me better." If I had said something like that why would I want to come back to Tamil?
Were you happier about- acting as a child star? As a child star, it was fun acting in films. I still remember those days. There was no competition. Shooting was like going on a picnic.
You act in many mythological films. Are you very religious? Its just a role. I'm not that religious. But, I worship god everyday. Actresses don't have true friends. What about you? I'm different. I have some very close friends- Meena, Rambha and Ramya Krishnan are my close friends. |
