This year you will be entering into the 18th year of your career. Are you happy about these 17 years of your career...
I am quite happy...I can't believe its already 17 years. In these seventeen years, I have done lot of good characters in films like Geethanjali, Shiva, Allari Alludu, Hello Brother, Annamayya, Santhosham, Manmadhudu and many others. I have had a satisfying career so far when it comes to movies and characters that I did.
When you started your career, did you have any goals set for yourself?
Nothing like that. Career is a journey...It goes on...I don't it is right to set goals or targets in such a journey and limit ourselves. If I had pre-defined goals set...then after a trend setting film like "Shiva" I should say that's it, or after the award winning performance in Annamayya, I should relax. In my opinion those were milestones in my career and were not targets that I was trying to achieve.
According to me the goal of an artist is indefinite.
You are like a loaded gun right now with two successive hits and director Puri Jagannath had three hits in a row. A film being made in combination of you both has raised a log of expectations...what do you say?
It's quite natural. To have expectations on people who have given successes is quite natural. We are trying our best to meet those expectations through this film.
Tell us about your character in Shivamani.
A very energetic police officer who is very strict and straightforward. He gets transferred seven times , but still doesn't give up his principles. It's a very interesting character to bring out the heroism and the energetic personality as a hero.
After doing soft characters in the last two films Manmadhudu and Santhosham, are you doing this action character for a change.
First and foremost it is important to get a good character to play. Audiences never say you have done two soft characters in a row I will not watch if you do another one. So, I am not doing Shivamani for a change...I got a chance of doing a good character and I am doing it that's all.
Is the character Shivamani only action oriented or would it also has shades of love and romance which most of your female fans expect...
Why not? Shivamani is a romantic and action film. Basically it's a love story fused with action backdrop.
Tell us about your character in Kamakshi Movies film.
Right now I can only tell it is another different but, typical character. It's a character of a person who does Export and Import business in Visage port.
You are doing two films simultaneously with two young directors. How is their working style and your interaction with them.
Its cool. Puri Jagannath has molded the Shivamani character into a very great one. He did a good job. He has a pleasant working style, which is in tune with mine. Aditya is also a very decent guy. New directors have the zeal and enthusiasm to do something different and new. They are always in a dedicated mood that is helpful for the project on whole.
What is your attitude towards fans.
My fans have been my side in my failures and successes. They stood by me and supported me. I am very thankful to all of them.
