Tagore.. Review
Are you chivalrous in childhood?
It is quite common among the children to be chivalrous, but only a few are exceptional to this nature. You can include me in the second category. I did never do mischief, which is intolerable to my parents. I am regular to school and used to study books like a very good girl. My mischief is always under control.
How did you get opportunity in your debut film 'Ishtam'?
When I am learning Kathak in Delhi, I came to know that the producers are in search of heroines for 'Ishtam' and I gave some of my music videos in which I performed dance to them. They wanted a heroine who looked a synonym to the Indian national and I looked apt for them and selected me. Like that I got the opportunity in 'Ishtam'.
Did you feel any trouble because you don't know Telugu?
Of course, in the beginning I am quite uneasy, but was able to overcome with the help of co-artistes. An artiste should be able to give good facial expressions, for that he or she should understand the scene correctly. Though I don't know Telugu language I was able to manage my work and enjoy acting.
What is the reaction from your parents after you got the opportunity in 'Ishtam'?
Generally, some people fear sending their wards into films. Likewise, my parents and relatives are against my entry into films. After reaching this place, I could understand what is film industry. There will be different kinds of persons in the industry. The behaviour of some individuals will be quite odd. As far as me, I did not face any sour experiences so far and all I faced are good encounters. Even my people had liked the environment here and I was able to complete my job comfortably.
Before entering the film industry as heroine, did you do modeling for any Ads?
No. But I modeled for 'Coke' Ad after becoming heroine. Later, I played in another Ad also. Very recently, I worked as model for 'Red Label Tea'.
Where you were born and brought up? Can you tell us about your family?
I was born in Dehradun and was brought up in Hardwar. I have an elder brother who stays in Delhi. My father is also doing a good job in Delhi. My mother is a chemistry teacher.
You are dressing up in modern outfits and at the same time wearing traditional sarees. How did you feel, when you are supposed to wear dresses that are quite exposive?
Once I entered the location, I just forget that I am Shriya. I only keep in mind the character that I am playing. I have to wear dresses that are suitable to the character. I don't need to explain you that it would not proper if we don't put up the dress that is suitable character.
You are playing opposite young heroes and at the same time you are grabbing chances to pair up with top heroes. How do you feel for becoming so busy in no time?
I believe that it is all because of the God's blessings. At the same time I had a strong feeling that luck is favouring me and hence I am getting so many opportunities. Though we have God's blessing and luck, we too should do put in our effort to supplement it. So I am working hard. In my opinion, success will follow hard work.
Do you have friends?
Yes, so many. Because I studied in a co-education school, I have both girl friends as well as boy friends. I am in touch with my friends even now. Generally, I will be quite friendly with everyone. I don't like to remain moody at the shooting spot. I speak to everyone and at the same time work with dedication.
Then, do you have any dream boy?
No. I just don't believe on such things. Destiny decides that a person should marry a person. I just strongly believe it.
Don't you like to attend shootings without your mother?
No, no. There is nothing like that. I am not bringing my mother for security. As I told you earlier, there is a quite friendly atmosphere here. Everyone move freely with others. But, I generally ask my mother anything that I wanted in the location. She just come with me for moral support. Whenever my father find time, he too attend the shootings.
Do you discuss with your parents before accepting any film?
Yes. I do tell them about the story and my character. However, it is me who take a final decision.
