Guri.. Review
Why did you have such a long gap in your career?
Some of my films bombed at the box-office. Probably that could be one of the reasons. In fact, even I wonder as to what went wrong.
Though you come from a filmi background, you couldn’t get a foothold in the industry. Why?
Success and failure depend on the story and script of the film. I think the director is solely responsible for a film’s fate. If a good story is not handled well, then it is bound to fail at the box-office. So the fate of the film depends entirely on the director
Your recent movie Guri didn’t do well too despite Srihari playing the lead...
The story and the script that was narrated to me was entirely different from the final product. The script was changed at places. Initially, Srihari did not figure in the cast. But later when the script was changed, he was taken.
What’s your character in this film?
This film is based on youth and it is a family entertainer. Arun Prasad is the director who had earlier directed Thammudu. Fifty per cent of the film is complete. It’s scheduled for release in July.
Do you think this film will turn out to be your comeback film?
Yes. I will be back. I am now 100 per cent confident. It’s got a good story and Arun Prasad will make a hit film.
What are your future projects?
I signed three films. One is an NRI production from London, one with Kodi Ramakrishna and one with Maruthi Combines.
What do you think of the industry now as compared to when you joined the industry?
It’s doing really well. Creativity has become the main element in film-making. People are coming up with different themes. It is very encouraging.
