A feel-bad film!
Yet another 'feel-good' film that draws flak. Chandra Siddartha who is making this film after the success of 'Aa Naluguru' proves that he is not the name set to make such feel good films. The characters are stereotyped, the performances are average, the dubbing and editing is bad and the twists are predictable. The saving grace might be the little humor inserted in it and Manisarma's songs, which are pleasant on the ear.
To support the bad direction are all the people who have worked in the film. Right from the cameraman to the artistes everyone has failed to even do a mediocre work. Sumanth is miserable failure in this film, so are the heroines who appear foolish on many occasions. What surprises is that an experienced producer like Ramanaidu agreeing to produce such a movie and after watching it saying that it has come out very well! Wonder what is good about this film for Dr Ramanaidu?
The story
Sanjay (Sumanth) likes to help people in need, but is aloof and does not believe in love. Opposite to him is Hamsa (Sneha), who falls in love with him and asks him to marry her. He gives her the nod, but asserts that he does not love her. Sanjay's friend Maya (Parvati Melton) is a commitment-phoebe 'who smokes, drinks, gets repeated abortions' (urbane stereotype). So after the break, everyone's views on love and marriage change, meaning Hamsa loses faith, Sanjay gains it and so does Maya.
Misunderstandings, misconceptions, emotional distress, faithful beliefs, desires and betrayals play vital role in the lives of Hamsa and Sanjay. Even Maya faces a few situations those influence her life. Manga understands depth of love and understanding. Incidentally, Sanjay, who has been practical, turns emotional; Hamsa who has been emotional turns practical and flirting Maya transforms into a responsible lady.
The Analysis
Nothing new about this film. every bit of it seems like you have seen this somewhere. The main theme-about belief in love, is oft-repeated. Secondly, except for a few humorous scenes and dialogues in the movie, the screenplay drags too much, that becomes intolerable. The direction is amateurish. The screenplay is very predictable. The worst is the dubbing and editing, with M.S.Narayana's tiny role left un-dubbed! Maybe this is new style, sorry for our ignorance.
Sudhakar's camera work is very sub standard; maybe he should have stayed back in the institute for few more years to learn the craft better instead of just walking out with a diploma certificate without knowing the technicalities of camera work. Naresh as Sumanth's uncle, a child artiste as Sumanth's cousin and Siva Reddy's mimicry are comic. Venu Madhav-AVS track has been seen before. Parvati Melton's role is extremely stereotyped, and her performance is below average. Sneha gives a mediocre performance. One wonders how everybody in the film could perform below their average levels. it could be because the director himself is like that. | |
