S.V. Krishna Reddy once famous for delivering good family oriented movies is losing his grip. Lately his movies hardly did average bussiness. Adding to the feather is 'Orey Pandu' though the concept of the movie is different considering his other movies, yet there is nothing much to rave about. It is clear that the movie is inspired by the bollywood blockbuster 'Koi Mil Gaya' (Alien powers replaced by Baba powers). Screenplay and direction is a complete letdown. First half of the movie is average, Second half is a disaster and so is the climax. Venu Madhav's Phone Booth comedy with Brahmanandam as hidden shooter is the only good part in the entire movie.
Story: Pandu (Sachin) is a man with no mental growth. Even after entering 20's, he would be studying in elementary school in which his mother (Bhanu Priya) works as teacher. He accidentally bumps into a girl called Priya (Sandali Sinha). Priya is engaged to her family friend Vicky (Rajiv Kanakala). Vicky teases Pandu badly and ridicules him. Then Priya realizes that Pandu is her childhood buddy.
In the past, business magnet Harinath’s (Naresh) entire empire works on the advice of his friend Murthy (Banerji). Harinath’s better half is Akhilandeswari (Bhanupriya).
Sayaji is Harinath’s ex party and he realizes that if he has to grow one up on Harinath then he’ll have to have Murthy by his side. He does this through one Purushottam (A.V.S.) and knits a conspiracy against Harinath.
As part of this, Harinath is killed in a supposed accident and some how his wife Akhilandeswari and son Vijay, whose pet name is Pandu, escape. Murthy then sends them away to Ooty. As a consequence of this accident, Pandu gets struck on his head that leads to a stunted mental growth in him.
Music:Music by Anand Raj Anand is average. Tunes of almost all the songs are repeated with no melody.
Performance: Sachin as mentally chalenged Pandu could not fulfill the challenges offered by the role. Sandali Sinha is cute and her expressions are good. Bhanu Priya and Benarjee are adequate. Rajiv Kanakala is OK. Sayaji Shinde's dubbing is bad.
Verdict Below Average.
