Torture called 'Agni' is back!
Very rarely do sequels appeal to people. Making a sequel requires a very systematic and planned approach towards the subject. It should actually start from the canning of the first part itself. But the idea to make a sequel film comes to us only after the success of the first film. The 'Police Story 2' seems to have originated in this fashion. The film originally made in Kannada is catapulted Sai Kumar into a star league. After 10 years he returns with a sequel. The Telugu version is produced by RR Movie Makers.
But it takes all your strength to go and watch this 'agni' in over action. Overall a most disappointing fare and a boring film with over dose of action and Sai Kumar's histrionics. Added to this another torture called Sana who plays to the role of the main villain. She looks horrible and are acting is very cheap!
The story
'Police Story' (part one) ends with the dreaded terrorist Black Tiger hanged to death. This sequel film - 'Police Story 2' starts off with Agni (Sai Kumar) becoming DCP and dealing with another new gang of criminals - headed by Timmakka (Sana), Dharamaraju (Jeeva) and Satya. Agni contains the atrocities of Timmakka and kills off her rapist son. Vowing to take revenge on Agni, Timmakka calls on Black Tiger. It is revealed that he duped the police during hanging and escaped from the sentence. After finishing off Timmakka and everyone, Agni heads to Bangkok to eliminate the Black Tiger.
The Analysis
This film is only for those who would like to undergo some torture in their life. And if people like us have to watch it is only because we are all cursed. you should have great patience to watch through this film in complete. Police Story was released 10 years ago. At that time, it seemed okay. Even the dialogues of Sai Kumar which might have then appealed to B and C center audience, will not appeal now. They are just too much to take on. With old-fashioned narration and juvenile direction the film is nothing short of thrash.
None of the actors appeal to us, Sai Kumar takes the role as if he another Sivaji Ganesan, but he proves to be not even an extra artiste in this industry. It is better he gets back to the job of doing dubbing rather than making us all suffer to his acting abilities. |  |
