'Sankranthi' is based on the concept of joint family. The story runs on the relations between the characters. It is a decent family entertainer with good dose of sentiments. Story by Linguswamy is oft repeated in many movies and TV Soaps. There is nothing new as far as the story is concerned. Screenplay and direction of the film is good. The movie has 4 heroes and 3 heroines. Muppalaneni Siva did a fine job in giving equal importance to all the characters. Paruchuri Brother's dialogues are adequate.

Story:
Raghavendra (Venkatesh), Vishnu (Srikanth), Chinna (Siva Balaji) and Vamsi (Sarvanand) are brothers. Raghavendra and Anjali (Arti Agarwal) fall in love and they are relatives as well. They get engaged with the consent of parents. But Raghavendra's family looses everything they have due to certain incident. Anjali's parents reject Raghavendra on the basis of poverty. Raghavendra decides that he should make good money, buy a house and have all comforts before marriage. He achieves his targets. Then he marries a good-hearted and responsible girl (Sneha). Later on, they settle Vishnu's match with the sister (Sangeeta) of Anjali. Problems arise in the family, with the entry of Vishnu's wife who is jealous and starts feeling insecure that her husband does not hold a great place in the family. The younger one Chinna too falls in love with the daughter of rich businessman (Prakash Raj) who threatens to rip the family bonds apart. How the family overcomes all these problems and stay together forms the rest of the story.


Music:S.A Raj's music is impressive. Picturization of the songs is good.

Performance:
Venkatesh is a pro in delivering such family oriented roles. The character is tailor made for him. His performance is excellent. Srikanth has bagged yet another good role of a supporting artist (after Shankardada MBBS), and is flawless in his performance. Sneha is adequate as a perfect wife. Sangeetha's character has negative shade and she comes out with excellent performance. Arthi Agarwal is good in her short role. Siva Balaji scores well on the looks and performance front, while Sharvanand is just functional. Urvashi and Saradha play moms and did them well. Venu Madhav's role of spoofing the characters from Mass, Shankar Dada MBBS and Gharshana are good.
